Why TidyNext needs a room photo
The photo gives TidyNext visible context about the space. It helps the app suggest smaller cleaning and organizing steps that relate to your room instead of offering a generic checklist. If you choose an AI visual goal, the image may also be used to create an illustrative view of possible progress.
What the AI looks for
The AI may look for visible objects, clutter, surfaces, floors, storage areas, and possible actions such as putting items away, clearing a small area, or gathering similar objects.
The AI may make mistakes. It cannot reliably judge hidden conditions, materials, contamination, structural risks, or whether a task is safe for you.
What the AI should not infer
TidyNext should not use a room photo to infer sensitive traits or make judgments about a person’s identity, health, disability, finances, beliefs, emotions, legal status, or other personal characteristics. It is an organizing tool, not a diagnostic or surveillance tool.
Does the image leave your device?
Yes. When you use an AI feature, the selected photo is sent over HTTPS through Cloudflare AI Gateway to OpenAI. TidyNext uses OpenAI to create plans and optional visual goals, adjust plans, and compare Before and After photos when you request a progress review.
Where images are stored
After a plan is created, TidyNext stores its Before photo, plan, progress, optional visual goal, and any real After photo in the app’s local documents storage. Temporary working copies may remain in operating-system-managed cache storage until the operating system removes them.
TidyNext tells Cloudflare not to store request or response bodies and skips Gateway caching. Cloudflare may still keep non-content operational metadata. OpenAI may retain API content for abuse monitoring for up to 30 days by default, or longer when required for legal, safety, or security reasons.
OpenAI also scans image inputs for potential child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Images flagged by its classifier may be retained for manual review, including when stricter data-retention controls apply.
Are images used for model training?
OpenAI states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models by default. The OpenAI project used by TidyNext has not opted in to data sharing for model improvement.
What happens when you delete a plan?
Deleting a room from My Plans removes that room’s locally archived Before and After photos, AI visual goal, plan, progress, and related metadata from TidyNext’s storage on that device. It cannot recall information already processed by Cloudflare or OpenAI and may not remove operating-system cache files or device backups.
Requesting remote deletion
This version has no user accounts, and AI requests are not linked to an in-app identity. That means we may not be able to identify a particular remote request. You can email tidynext@gmail.com with the approximate request date, time, and time zone. We will assess the request and work with the relevant provider where identification and deletion are reasonably possible.
Before you upload a photo
Review the whole image, including the background and reflective surfaces. Remove or obscure:
- Faces
- Children
- Mail and shipping labels
- Identification documents
- Financial documents
- Medical information
- Computer screens
- Home addresses
- Keys
- Security systems
- Valuable possessions
- Any other sensitive personal information
If sensitive information cannot be removed or obscured, choose a different angle or do not upload the photo.
